Munnar
Perched in the Nilgiri Hills in the western ghats,
Munnar is breathtaking hill station - quiet and misty.
Munnar is a wonderful location for all those who seek
solitude in the serene environs. It was the summer capital
of erstwhile British Government in South India. Anamudi,
the highest mountain peak in South India is in Munnar.
It is an ideal trekking spot. Munnar

Among exotic flora found in the forests and grassland
in the 'Neelakurinji' which bloom in blue flowers every
12 years , is scheduled to bloom in 2006. Munnar is
famous for its tea estates.
Location - Munnar is located
at an altitude of 1600m above the sea leveling the state
of Kerala. Munnar is situated at the confluence of three
mountain streams - Mudrapuza, Nallathanni and Kundala.
Nearest international airport is Kochi( Cochin) at 130-kms
and domestic airport at Madurai at 140-kms.
Munnar can be easily accessed from Kottayam - Alleppy
(famous for backwater cruises). Kottayam is at 148-kms.
Climate - Munnar has mild cold
climate throughout the year. Temperature in summer ranges
from 20C to 35C and in winters from 0C to 10C.
