Lord Jagannath
Temple
The celebrated Temple of Lord Jagannath at Puri in
Orissa. It was constructed by Raja Ananta Varman Chodaganga
Dev in 12th century A.D. The wooden deities of Jagannath,
Balabhadra and Subhadra were installed in the temple.
The temple with the curvilinear shikharas is a splendid
representation of Orissan architecture. The best time
to visit the temple is during the Rath Yatra festival
in the month of July. Other important sites close to
the temple are, the 13th century magic carved on sand
stone - Konark, the largest brackish water lake of the
continent – Chilika.

Meenakshi
Temple
The temple town of Madurai is one of
the most ancient heritage sites of India which reflects
the cultural background of India. Madurai is closely
associated with the literary wealth of Classical and
Modern Tamil. The crowning glory of this historic city
is the sprawling Meenakshi Sundareswarar temple. The
temple is a splendid art gallery with each stone, each
image breathing the tradition of the ancient - and vibrant
Indian culture. The vast temple complex is surrounded
by fortified walls pierced with towering gopurams seen

Tirupati Temple
Tirupati/Tirumala is a pilgrimage center
of great significance. Venkateswara, or Srinivasa or
Balaji as the presiding deity Vishnu is known, is enshrined
in this temple which is located on a range of the Eastern
Ghats, called the Seven Hills. The temple is situaited
on the last hill. It is said to be the richest temple
in India, this temple is a vibrant cultural and philanthropic
institution with a grand history spanning several centuries.

Rameshwaram
Rameshwaram is an island situated in
the gulf of manner at the very tip of the Indian peninsula.
A very important pilgrimage centre of India.The island
is spread over an area of 61.8 square kilometers and
has the shape of a conch. The Ramanatha Swamy Temple
occupies major area of Rameshwaram. The masterpiece
of Dravidian architecture boasts of the largest temple
corridor in India. The temple is famous for its 1200
gigantic granite columns. The 54 metre tall gopuram
(gate-tower), 1220 metres of magnificent corridors and
the flamboyant columns embellish and render fame to
the temple. The temple comprises of twenty-two wells
where the taste of the water of each well is different
from the other.
