CLIMATE & BEST TIME OF TOUR

The state of Karnataka has an equable climate mainly in the hilly or in high plateau. The climate of the state can be divided into three types depending upon the three geograhpically distinct zones.

The northern districts of the state have slightly warmer climate than the others. The climate in this part remains hot, semi arid and tropical. The tropical monsoon climate covers the entire coastal belt of the state including the adjoining areas.

The southern half of the state experiences hot, seasonally dry climate. June to September is the monsoon season in the state. As Bangalore, the capital city of the state, falls in the plateau zone it has a relatively cool climate.

Both summer and winter monsoon cause rainfall in Bangalore. Thus climate is pleasant throughout the year. The period of October to March covering the post-monsoon and the winter season is pleasant throughout the state and is the best time for tour in the state.
