CLIMATE & BEST TIME OF TOUR - TAMILNADU

Tamil Nadu has a tropical climate which has a little difference between the temperature in summers and winters. The hottest months of the year are April and May when the temperature soars to 40 degree Celsius.

The coastal regions (Chennai, Pondicherry etc.) get humid during this time of the year although the night times are cool due to the sea breeze setting in.

During the winter the temperature varies from 20 degree Celsius to a maximum of 33 degree Celsius and in summers the maximum goes up to 38 degree Celsius with a minimum of 25 degree Celsius. One very peculiar feature of climate of this region is monsoon rains between the months of October and December.

The hill stations in the state such as Kodaikanal, Ooty etc. has relatively lower temperature where the maximum temperature does not rise above 20 degree Celsius. A mild winter falls in these hill stations between November and February.

Seeing the temperature conditions the best time for tourism in the state is from November till February.
