Ooty - Udhagamandalam or Ooty is the capital of
the Nilgiri district of the state of Tamil Nadu and
is also popularly known as the "Queen of Hill stations"
of South India. It is situated on the Nilgiri Hills
at an altitude of about 2285 metres. The numerous tea
estates established here have made this place famous.
The Nilgiri hills are also famous for its Nilgiris Tea
through out the world. Complete relaxation, trekking
are the best way of recreation in this hill town. Yoga
classes are also arranged on special request as the
cool climate of the town helps in taking up of Yogic
Asanas.

the winter months
Clothing - Heavy woollen clothes are
required during the winter months of November to February
Rest of the year cottons are perfect with light woollens
in the evenings.

Best time to visit - Although the climate is pleasant
throughout the year but the best time to visit is during
October to February.
How to reach-
Air - The nearest airport is Coimbatore at a
distance of 105-kms which in turn is connected to most
of the domectic airlines.
Road - It is well connected by raodways to Bangalore,
Mysore, Chennai, Ooty, Coimbatore and Madurai. Taxis
on hire are available. Luxury airconditioned buses ply
regularily to arrange trip to this town.
