Flora & Fauna - Half of the park is covered with tall Sal trees. In the foothills mixed forests are found along with stretches of grass land and bamboo trees. Tiger, Nilgai, Chital, Wild Boar are found.

Wildlife Viewing - The wildlife can be witnessed by Jeep Safaris or elephant safaris both of which are available. Jeep Safaris are arranged in the day time while the elephant safaris are arranged in the morning hours.

Best time to Visit - December to May.


Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary-
Also known as Keoladeo Ghana National Park , it is one of the finest bird parks in the world. It is also accepted as a World Heritage Site.

Location - It is situated in Bharatpur in the state of Rajasthan on about 30-sq.-kms area. The nearest city for access is Bharatpur which is well connected to Delhi, Jaipur and other major cities of Rajasthan through Roadways. Nearest airport is at Agra which is about 56-kms.

Flora & Fauna - Apart from more than 320 species of indigenous birds, it also attracts migratory birds from Siberia and Central Asia. Among the animals Sambar, Boar, Chital can be seen.

Bird Watching - It can be done on foot or on a bicycle. Of course rikshaw are available with well trained rikshaw- pullers acting as guides .

Best time to Visit - September to April

Accommodation - Bharatpur Forest Lodge located inside the park having about 17 fully air conditioned rooms.

Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary-
Also a National Park and Tiger Reserve , this unique unique wildlife sanctuary is situated in the Western Ghat ( West Coast) in the state of Kerala.

Location - This sanctuary is located in Kumily town well connected to Kottayam and Ernakulum in Kerala covering an area of about 778-sq-kms. Cochin city (Kochi) -200-kms and Madurai in Tamil Nadu-140-kms are the two nearest Airports.

Flora & Fauna - This place is full of thick deciduous forest. Animals like wild pigs, Sambar, Barking Deer etc. are found. Elephants and tigers can also be seen. Among the birds Kingfishers, the great Malabar, Hornbills are available. Periyar lake banks are famous for elephants, although it is a tiger reserve.

Wildlife Viewing - Boat cruise in the Periyar lake situated in the center of the sanctuary is the best option to witness the wild herd of elephants, sambar can be seen.

Best time to Visit- October to May.

Where to Stay - Taj Garden Retreat situated just outside Periyar Tiger Reserve. It has about 32 thatched roof exotic villas with swimming pool, Ayurvedic treatment and massage center among other facilities.
